WHAT IS THE COBBITTY EQUINE CLASSIC?

Cobbitty Equine Farm’s own “Sire Stakes” Race Series

The Cobbitty Equine Ultra Air Classic is Australasia’s only exclusive juvenile harness racing series of its kind, created to reward the breeders, owners and trainers who support Cobbitty Equine Farm’s elite pacing stallions.

Launching in 2026 at Club Menangle, the series will feature two-year-old pacers competing through a series of heats leading into two prestigious $100,000 Finals.

Eligibility is exclusive to foals sired by a Cobbitty Equine Farm pacing stallion, regardless of whether the mare was served in Australia or New Zealand. If your foal’s sire stood at Cobbitty Equine Farm during the season of conception, your horse is eligible to sustain.

With $200,000 in prizemoney on offer, the series creates exciting opportunities for breeders, owners and yearling buyers alike while enhancing market appeal and sale ring exposure across Australasia.

The Cobbitty Equine Ultra Air Classic also showcases Cobbitty Equine Farm’s world-class stallion roster, including standout sires such as Confederate, Huntsville and three-time Miracle Mile champion King Of Swing.

Eligibility

HOW ELIGIBILITY WORKS?

To be eligible for the Cobbitty Equine Ultra Air Classic, foals must be sired by a pacing stallion standing at Cobbitty Equine Farm during the season of conception.

Eligibility applies to foals conceived from mares served in both Australia and New Zealand, creating exclusive opportunities for breeders, owners and trainers across Australasia.

EXCLUSIVE ELIGIBILITY

Only horses sired by a pacing stallion standing at Cobbitty Equine Farm during the season of conception are eligible to sustain for the Cobbitty Equine Ultra Air Classic.

AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND

Eligibility applies to foals conceived from mares served in both Australia and New Zealand.

SUSTAINING PAYMENTS

To remain eligible for the Cobbitty Equine Ultra Air Classic, foals must be sustained in line with the official series conditions and payment deadlines.

The inaugural Cobbitty Equine Ultra Air Classic will showcase the next generation of harness racing talent, with eligible two-year-old pacers competing for $200,000 in prizemoney at Club Menangle in December.

Heats will be run – Tuesday 1st of December 2026
Finals Night – Saturday 12th of December 2026

SERIES TWO – 2027 EDITION

Following the successful launch of the inaugural Cobbitty Equine Ultra Air Classic in 2026, Series Two will continue to build on the vision of creating Australasia’s premier exclusive juvenile harness racing series.

Nominations for Series Two have now been accepted for eligible foals sired by stallions standing at Cobbitty Equine Farm. As part of the ongoing development of the series, a 2YO sustaining payment has been introduced, with payment due on 1st of March 2027.

Foal nominations for Series Three will officially be called by HRNSW in June 2026, with further details regarding eligibility, sustaining payments and race conditions to be announced.
