We know we say it every month, but where did that last month go?

Here we are in August, with the new breeding season upon us. It won’t be long until the first foals start arriving here in Australia and we start collecting Stallions for the new breeding season and what an exciting one it’s going to be….

Cantfindabettorman!
During the Queensland Winter Carnival, Cantfindabettorman picked the Group 3 South East Derby beating some talented horses.

Since arriving in Australia, Cantfindabettorman has been ultra impressive for the stable. ‘PJ’ has had four starts for us for three wins and a second, a tough second at that in the Group One Queensland Derby behind Leap To Fame. We can’t thank his great group of owners for letting us be apart of the exciting horse!

A big powerful individual, Ultimate Machete is a four time Group 1 winning son of Bettors Delight with a blue blood pedigree joins our Stallion Line Up for the upcoming 2022/23 Breeding Season. The New Zealand 3YO and 4YO Pacing Male of the Year will be standing this season at $2,750 inc gst.

Mares served by Ultimate Machete this upcoming season will also be eligible for the Cobbitty Equine Classic.

The Cobbitty Equine Classic will be a two year old race series, with heats  conducted on a Tuesday and then a $100,000 Colts & Geldings Final and a $100,000 Fillies Final to follow.

The Cobbitty Equine Classic is restricted to horses that are Sired by a Cobbitty Equine Farm Pacing Stallion. This includes all Mares served in Australia and New Zealand their foals will be eligible to compete in this two year old race series.

The eight Stallions include : Bling It On, Capt Midnight, For A Reason, Huntsville, Jilliby Kung Fu, King Of Swing, McWicked and Ultimate Machete.

We are very exciting to see some of the young talent produced in the coming years from our Stallions and what a better way to give back to the breeders, owners and trainers that support us with prizemoney being allocated to both the breeder and the owner.

With the great incentive of the new BREED NSW scheme and now the Cobbitty Equine Classic, it is a massive bonus to breed your mare to one of the eight Pacing Stallions standing at Cobbitty Equine Farm.

It also has the added incentive if you are breeding to sell in the current competitive yearling market, being eligible for an $100,000 race is only adding more value to your yearling.

There will be plenty more details to come, but it’s that easy! Serve your mare to one of the eight Cobbitty Equine Farm Pacing Stallions this season and their progeny will be eligible to enter the Cobbitty Equine Classic in 2026.

Collaboration with Haras des Trotteurs

Cobbitty Equine Farm are proud to be partnering with Haras Des Trotteurs and
welcoming their Trotting Stallions to our Stallion line up for the upcoming
breeding season.

As well as offering their Frozen semen to all breeders from Cobbitty Equine Farm in NSW, we will be standing three outstanding Trotting Sires in both our NSW and QLD Farms. Chilled semen will be available for Classic Connection and On A Streak, who are both standing at Cobbitty Equine Farm NSW. While Champion Trotter Used To Me will be standing at Cobbitty Equine Farm QLD Base.

In addition to having three stallions standing at Cobbitty Equine Farm, the new collaboration between Haras des Trotteurs and Cobbitty Equine Farm features the launch of two new feature races for two-year-old trotters.

The Haras des Trotteurs-Cobbity Equine Farm Classic will showcase $75,000 finals for colts/geldings, and fillies to be run at Menangle.

To be eligible, the two-year-olds must be the result of mares being served in Australia or New Zealand this season by one of Haras des Trotteurs’ 13 roster stallions – On A Streak, and the French-bred band of Bird Parker, Bold Eagles, Brillantissime, Classic Connection, Eridan, En Solitaire, Love You, Orlando Vici, Quaker Jet, Timoko, The Best Madrik and Used To Me.

Proud is an understatement!
Luke’s brothers are taking the world by storm over in the Northern Hemisphere. Toddy won the world’s biggest harness race the $US1 million Hambletonian, at The Meadowlands on Cool Papa Bell. It came just two years after his older brother, Andy, won the famous race aboard Ramona Hill.

And Todd’s win continued a fairy tale year, having won Canada’s biggest race, the $CA1 million North American Cup on June 18 on Pebble Beach. Becoming the first driver since John Campbell to win both races in the same year in 1995.

What is most remarkable is the fact Todd only made the move from being Menangle’s leading driver to try his luck in North America less than two years ago.
