Yearling sales are in full swing across Australasia, and what an exciting time it is for boom new sire, King Of Swing. King Of Swing just completed his third year at stud, serving 150 mares once again. His first crop of yearlings has been hugely supported in both Australia and New Zealand, creating bidding wars between buyers.
This weekend we will see the running of the Perth APG Yearling Sale, where King Of Swing is represented by one filly, a very special one at that—she was the very first foal born by King Of Swing.
The excitement surrounding the arrival of King Of Swing’s first crop was immense, as he had a full book of mares during his inaugural season at stud. The expectations for the foals were high. On August 27, 2023, the first foal arrived: a strong, tall filly out of the mare Generally Outspoken, bred by KTC Bloodstock.
Come this Sunday, KTC Bloodstock will showcase 24 yearlings at the 2025 APG Perth Yearling Sale, and Charles has mentioned a particularly remarkable filly from his draft, Lot 382, a King Of Swing x Generally Outspoken filly.
“Lot 382 is a remarkable filly from King Of Swing’s first crop, out of Generally Outspoken. This mare has produced four winners, including the impressive Whataretheodds ($144K). The size and presence of this filly truly make her stand out; we are expecting a great result for her,” reports Kody Charles of KTC Bloodstock.
“She’s an outstanding filly, is a great mover with the attitude and pedigree to match. She was highly spoken about at our recent yearling parade. From the moment this filly was born and still to this day, she has a presence about her that just catches the eye.” (Kody Charles)
“When Mach Three was bred to a Beach Towel mare in Where’s The Beach, the result was the champion Somebeachsomewhere. Given that Generally Outspoken is a Mach Three mare, I was searching for a stallion with Beach Towel bloodlines. Even though it’s a bit further back in the pedigree, it felt like the ideal match, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome of this filly.” (Kody Charles)
KTC Bloodstock’s confidence in this filly is quite evident. We wish the team at KTC Bloodstock all the best in this weekend’s sale.
