September… where did that month go?
Breeding season has now kicked off here at Cobbitty and it’s already shaping up to be one of our busiest andmost exciting seasons yet. Our team and stallions have been firing on all cylinders and we’re thrilled to share some of the highlights from a huge month.

Breeding Season & New Arrivals
September marked a fantastic start to the breeding season here at Cobbitty. With the season now officially underway, our team and stallions have been firing on all cylinders. Our first month of collections is complete and we’re thrilled to confirm positive pregnancies across all our stallions, with our chilled stallions currently standing at 100% success rate. At the same time, the paddocks have been filling with new arrivals, including the much-anticipated first crops of Confederate and Cannibal foals. These foals are already standing out as outstanding types, and we couldn’t be happier with the quality hitting the ground this season.

$10 Million Reasons Why…

September was a landmark month for For A Reason. Not only did his progeny surpass $10 million in earnings, but the Cobbitty Equine Farm NSW Breeders Challenge Blue – 2YO Fillies Final (Group 2) delivered a showcase moment at Club Menangle, run in a scorching time of 1:51.8. It was also a Cobbitty Equine Farm -sired trifecta, with One More Reason (For A Reason) claiming victory, Wheres My Reason (For A Reason) finishing second, and Applauding (Bling It On) running third.

Group One Glory for Bettors Wish
Bettors Wish has quickly made his mark with his first Southern Hemisphere crop. His star filly Wishing Belle stormed home to win the Group One Allwood Stud Farm 2YO Westbred Fillies Classic at Gloucester Park.
Closer to home in NSW, Eye Wish couldn’t have kicked off her career any better – first start, first win at Wagga in a slick 1:53.3, scoring by over 13 metres. She then backed it up with another victory in a heat of the NSW Breeders Challenge. What a way to start a career!

Huntsville – Dominating the Big Stage
Our proven frozen semen stallion Huntsville delivered a headline-grabbing performance in September, lighting up the New York Sires Stakes Finals with winners across both the 2YO and 3YO divisions. His son Fragment powered home to win the 2YO Colts & Geldings Final, while his talented daughter The Last Martini captured the 3YO Fillies Final.

Perfect Sting – First Crop on Fire!
Our new addition to the Cobbitty roster this year, Perfect Sting, is already stamping himself as a sire to watch. The son of Always B Miki – who is unavailable to breeders this season – Perfect Sting offers a rare opportunity to secure the bloodlines of one of the sport’s greats. His first crop is lighting up tracks across the US, producing feature race winners and eye-catching performances.
At the New Jersey Classic Finals, Perfect Sting landed a huge double in the 2YO divisions. His son Bookie J captured the $150,000 Colts & Geldings Final, while his daughter Perfect Thought took out the $150,000 Fillies Final.
The momentum carried through a few weeks later, Be Sting stormed home to win the $74,500 Bluegrass Series division in a career-best 1:50.0, his third win of the season. Later on the card, Azrael Blue Chip delivered another sharp performance, winning in 1:52.0 and completing a Perfect Sting-sired double at the meeting.That makes eight sub-1:52 winners already from his very first crop.

Cobbitty Equine Ultra Air Classic 
Foal nominations for Series 2 of the Cobbitty Equine Ultra Air Classic have now officially closed and once again the support has been fantastic. We’ve received a strong wave of entries from breeders and owners, showing just how much momentum this series is building.Thank you to everyone who has backed this series – your support is what makes it such a success, and we can’t wait to see these youngsters hit the track in the future.

It’s also been exciting to see our stallions making their mark on the national sire lists.

• And on the global stage, Huntsville is the Leading Money-Winning Sire of 3YO Pacers in the US.
