Cobbitty Prepares for an Exciting 2026 Breeding Season
The countdown to breeding season is quietly underway, as we work behind the scenes preparing for what’s to come.
Two exciting international names set to return to the Cobbitty roster are Confederate and Cannibal. Both stallions will prepare to head back Down Under next month for the upcoming breeding season.
The fastest three-year-old pacer in history, Confederate, will once again bring his world-class speed and international profile back to Australian and New Zealand breeders following strong interest in his first two seasons internationally.
Blueblood stallion Cannibal is also set to return in 2026. He continues to impress breeders with his powerful type, pedigree and the quality of his stock making an impression in the paddock.
In the meantime, breeders interested in either stallion are encouraged to reach out for a chat with our team.
We also welcome back our two home-bred boys For A Reason and King Of Swing. For A Reason was recently crowned NSW Sire of the Year for the sixth time. He continues to receive strong support from breeders, known for his consistency in delivering progeny who not only make the race track and win, but whose manners, temperament and attitude make trainers love them.
King Of Swing, our three-time Miracle Mile champion, who has received four full books at stud, goes into his fifth stud season. His 2YO’s are hitting the tracks now and are certainly beginning to make head way amongst the 2YO brigade in Australia and New Zealand. The royally bred son of Rocknroll Hanover continues to leave his stamp on his progeny and we look forward to watching his 2YO’s this season.

Cobbitty Stallion Roster Fires at Bathurst
The 2YO ranks continue to fire for the Cobbitty Equine Farm stallion roster, with another outstanding night at Bathurst showcasing the strength and depth of the farm’s young sires.
The opening highlight came in the 2YO Maiden where the first six horses home were all sired by Cobbitty Equine Farm stallions. King Of Swing led the charge with Aunty Mel taking the win and Spartan Chimes finishing third, while McWeapon (McWicked) finished second followed by Starbase (Huntsville), Surprise Arrival (For A Reason) and Valentine Girl (For A Reason) completing the remarkable result.
Later in the meeting, Sophies Wish gave Bettors Wish victory in the 2YO Fillies Maiden, with Lucky Jess by Bling It On running second to complete a Cobbitty Equine Farm sired quinella.
The 2YOs are really starting to hit their straps now and there’s plenty to look forward to over the coming months. With winners and placegetters coming from across the Cobbitty stallion roster, attention will soon start turning towards the Cobbitty Equine Classic in December.

Bettors Wish Filly Claims $100,000 Nutrien Classic Final
Bettors Wish continues to make his mark in the Southern Hemisphere, with well-bred filly Eye Wish securing the biggest victory of her career to date when she bravely held off in a thrilling finish to the $100,000 Nutrien Equine Standardbred Classic Series Final for three-year-old fillies at Wagga on Saturday night.
The talented daughter of Bettors Wish was made to earn every dollar of the rich prize purse, with Willows Girl issuing a strong challenge in the home straight. Eye Wish dug deep when it mattered most, refusing to surrender to claim the feature event.
Trained by Russell Jack and driven by Nathan Jack, Eye Wish has now added a valuable Listed Classic success to her growing résumé.
Bred by Jackie Gibson of Success Stud, Eye Wish is out of the Somebeachsomewhere mare Yes Eye See, a mare also bred by Gibson and a member of the renowned “Eye” family that has produced numerous talented performers over the years.
The victory adds another significant milestone to the growing list of achievements being compiled by Bettors Wish progeny. Across both hemispheres, his offspring continue to make their presence felt in major races.

Huntsville Filly Claims QBRED Breeders Classic Final
Another feature race victory has been added to the growing list of successes for Huntsville’s exciting two-year-old crop, with Shine Like Me taking out the $50,000 QBRED Breeders Classic Final (G3) at Albion Park on Saturday night.
The daughter of Huntsville USA delivered an impressive performance in the juvenile feature, drawing clear over the closing stages to score by 6.8 metres in a mile rate of 1:55.6 over the 1660 metres.
Shine Like Me has now established herself as one of Queensland’s leading two-year-old fillies, adding a Group 3 victory to her record after showing plenty of promise throughout the season.
Bred by Chantal Turpin and raced by Jake and Chantal Turpin, Shine Like Me is out of the Art Major mare Diamond Solitaire NZ.
The win provided another feature race success for the Turpin McMullen Racing stable and further highlighted the quality emerging from Huntsville’s current juvenile crop.

Huntsville’s two-year-olds continue to feature prominently in juvenile racing across Australasia, with Shine Like Me adding another Group-winning performance to the stallion’s growing record.
