This season, we are thrilled to further enhance our Stallion Roster by introducing new chilled and frozen Stallions for the 2024/25 Breeding Season. Our dynamic line up of Eight Pacing Stallions, chilled and frozen cater to various budgets and pedigrees, ensuring there is a perfect match suited for every need.
Our goal here at Cobbitty Equine Farm is to offer our breeders not only exceptional quality Stallions but also offer a product which can meet the needs of our clients regardless of what state they are in, whether they breed to race or sell, as a hobby or a profession. We look forward to continuing to listen to our clients and aim to pave the way for a brighter future in Australasia’s Harness Racing’s breeding sector, where integrity, quality, and progress are at the forefront of our mission.
It’s been another huge twelve months for our Cobbitty Equine Farm team. Our sires continue to deliver exceptional progeny performances across Australasia and also broadening our horizon with For A Reason and Bling It On both siring winners in the Northern Hemisphere. Our two ‘OG’ boys, Bling It On and For A Reason started this whole operation by chance over seven years ago. We are more than proud of the job both these boys continue to do at Stud. Bling It On’s progeny continue to perform well all across Australia, producing winners week in, week out. We are yet to see his biggest crops hit the track. The richest Australian bred son of the champion sire American Ideal, Bling It On is again an exceptional quality Stallion offered at an affordable price.
For A Reason was crowned for the fourth time, NSW Sire of the Year. This shows his consistent success in the siring ranks and is a remarkable achievement that truly speaks for itself. ‘Frank’ matches it with the big boys year in, year out and always manages to finish in the top ten in every NSW Sires leader board. Could For A Reason possibly be the best valued sire around? We think so! His foals all boast the true Art Major strong bold looks and temperaments to match.
In a massive coup for the Australasia breeding industry, we are beyond excited to announce that we are shuttling the World’s Hottest Young Stallion to stand here Down Under in the flesh. The US 3YO Pacing Colt of the Year, US Horse & Pacer of the Year, Confederate joins our roster. Confederate has proven to be a remarkable talent on the racetrack, showcasing his exceptional speed and determination with every stride, becoming the fastest three-year-old pacer ever with a lifetime mark of 1:46.1.
The Richest and Fastest Son of Sweet Lou has certainly made a name for himself with an outstanding record of eighteen victories from twenty-two lifetime race starts. His total earnings of $2,077,554 only further solidified his status as a standout performer in the world of Harness Racing. Confederate has been hugely supported in the Northern Hemisphere, boasting a full and closed book for his inaugural season at Stud. His first year conception rates are just as exciting, we can’t wait for his arrival.
Also joining Confederate with us this season is another exciting son of Sweet Lou, Cannibal, who has also been supported with a full book of mares in the Northern Hemisphere for his first season at Stud. Cannibal retired at the conclusion of the 2023 season, securing fifteen victories out of twenty-seven lifetime starts and seven placings. Ranking fourth among all male three-year-old pacers for U.S. earnings and best win time of 1:48.1 which put him tied for fourth among the sophomore boys for the 2023 season. He alongside Confederate is enjoying great in-foal rates at his first role as a sire.
Huntsville, the sire of only one racing age crop here in Australia currently boasting an astonishing 90% winners-to-starters ratio joins us again this season via frozen semen. Huntsville has sired 81 individual winners from 90 individual starters and his one racing age crop have banked over $3,375,732 in earnings thus far in Australia. The remarkably high winners-to-starters ratio not only highlight’s Huntsville’s prowess but also sets a promising outlook for his future crops to come. In America, Huntsville is the current Leading Money Winning 2YO Sire and is sitting in the Top 3 for the 3YO’s. With such a strong start into his siring career here in Australia, breeders, buyers, owners and trainers should be taking note of Huntsville for the future.
Another promising sire that we are excited to add to our roster is the champion racehorse, Bettors Wish via frozen semen. Bettors Wish achieved outstanding results as 2023’s US’s leading first-crop pacing sire from limited numbers of only 39 live foals which he served while still racing as a 4YO. Bettors Wish possesses an impeccable pedigree that we believe really complements well with our Australasian bloodlines. A leading son of the champion sire Bettors Delight and out of the Western Ideal mare Lifetime Star. His second dam is a half-sister to top class sire American Ideal, so this is a first-class family.
The Miracle Mile ‘King’, King Of Swing returns for his third season at the Stud with us after receiving amazing support in his initial first two seasons, serving two complete full books with multiple black-type mares and families. Breeders are impressed by the exceptional quality of his foals, which exhibit strength, boldness, excellent temperaments and conformation. His pedigree continues to attract attention and admiration from breeders, further solidifying his status as an elite sire. The $3,390,546 earner, was a history maker on the track and looks to continue this role as a sire, we are so excited for his future.
We also continue our collaboration with Alabar and Nevele R Stud to stand the four-time Group One winning son of Bettors Delight, Ultimate Machete here with us again this season. Ultimate Machete’s debut crop showed extreme promise here in Australia last season, siring 13 individual winners. The filly sired by Ultimate Machete, Miss Idaho was a real cream of the crop for the year. Miss Idaho assembled an impressive record of 7 wins and a second place just in her 8 lifetime starts which led to earnings exceeding $60,000 and triumphs in three 2-year-old feature races during her debut racing season. Not only is Ultimate Machete proving to be a successful fillies sire, his colts also got the job done. One of his notable sons, Smooth Machete, won the Group 3 Dandy Patch Final and recorded another two wins and two placings from just five starts.
We thank you for your continued support, and are happy to offer loyalty and multiple mare discounts again this season. We will also continue to provide a quality product, delivered as quick as possible.
From the team at Cobbitty Equine Farm we look forward to working with you this season, and wish you all the best for the upcoming season.
