Established in 2011 by Luke and Belinda McCarthy, Cobbitty Equine Farm is set on 65 glorious acres, just 55km from Sydney Airport and 24km from Badgerys Creek airport.
The McCarthy name is synonymous with harness racing, with both Luke and Belinda having being raised in the industry.
Luke is the eldest son of top trainer and driver John McCarthy, and brothers to leading American drivers Andy and Todd McCarthy.
Belinda is the daughter of Wayne and Anne Lamb who operate Golden Gait Stud, one of the most prominent breeding farms to have been established in NSW.
Predominately established for harness racing, Cobbitty Equine Farm has diversified operations with numerous property improvements to cater for all aspects of equine care, training and breeding.
The Stud side of the business continues to grow with Cobbitty Equine now the largest and most successful Stud in NSW. In 2021/22 Luke and Belinda stood 7 Stallions, and this season are expanding their Stallion base to service the New Zealand market with chilled semen.
Whilst the Stallion ranks are rising, Luke and Belinda also had an incredible year on the track taking out the 2021/22 State Trainer title as well as the Metropolitan Trainer of the year in NSW. Belinda also received the prestigious First Lady award for her achievement’s.
