    2YO Breeders Crown

    3YO Breeders Crown

    Overview

The name says it all. A rare blend of brilliance, consistency, and pedigree, Perfect Sting was a once-in-a-generation racehorse…

Perfect Sting retired from the racetrack with an impeccable resume: a dual Dan Patch Award winner, dual Breeders Crown champion, and the richest Standardbred of 2021. In 26 career starts, he was never off the board, not once – finishing with 17 wins, 8 seconds, and a third.

He personified the “perfect” in his name during his two-year-old season, going undefeated in 10 starts and making history as the first pacer in over two decades to claim the Breeders Crown at both two and three. His two-year-old campaign included wins in the $600,000 Breeders Crown Final, International Stallion Stakes, Bluegrass Stakes, and Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship. He was a near-unanimous choice as Two-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year.

As a three-year-old, Perfect Sting competed at the highest level and delivered week after week. He won both the elimination and final of the Breeders Crown at The Meadowlands and captured an elimination of the Little Brown Jug and the Tompkins-Geers Stakes. He also won an elimination for the North America Cup and was placed first in a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes leg at Pocono. He finished second in a string of major stake race finals, including the North America Cup, Meadowlands Pace, Little Brown Jug, Tattersalls Pace, Max Hempt Memorial, Cane Pace, and the Bluegrass Stakes – narrowly beaten in some of the biggest tests of the season. He also placed third in the elimination for the Meadowlands Pace. Despite taking on a very competitive glamour boy division, he remained a model of consistency and class across all surfaces and distances.

As the gorgeous dark bay is a son of two World Champion parents, the expectations were sky high and he delivered. His sire is Always B Miki p,1:46, the fastest pacer in history at the time of his retirement, and a stallion who needs little introduction here Down Under. His influence and the raw speed he has introduced to our breed has been a game changer. His dam is Shebestingin p,3,1:47, the fastest 3YO pacing filly at the time of her retirement and a daughter of champion sire Bettors Delight, giving Perfect Sting a maternal line packed with class, durability, and commercial value.

To now offer a history-making son of Always B Miki who brings such extraordinary depth of pedigree on the maternal side is truly exciting. Not only is this two-time divisional Horse of the Year by a World Champion, but he is also out of a World Champion – a rare distinction in any code of racing. This is speed on speed, champion on champion – a stallion bred not just to win, but to leave a legacy.

His first crop of yearlings sold strongly in North America in 2024, highlighted by a $460,000 colt at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, ranking second overall on Day 1 by gross – only behind Captaintreacherous. Now his 2YO’s are backing that up on the track, with Perfect Sting currently sitting among the top five on the North American 2YO Sires Leaderboard, proving that his brilliance is already being passed on.

      Progeny

Siring Speed, Class and Stakes Winners

First stood in Australia in 2025
First Australian-bred foals due during the 2026 foaling season
First North American crop are current 3YOs in 2026
Second North American crop are current 2YOs in 2026

Perfect Sting is rapidly establishing himself as one of North America’s most exciting young pacing sires.

His first crop burst onto the scene as 2YOs in 2025, displaying the speed, professionalism and determination that made their sire an undefeated Breeders Crown champion at two.

Rather than resting on that early success, they have taken another significant step forward at three.

After finishing eighth among North American 2YO pacing sires in 2025, Perfect Sting climbed to fourth on the 2026 North American 3YO pacing sire table by 2 August, with his first crop earning more than US$1.9 million during their sophomore season alone.

Across his first two racing crops, Perfect Sting has already sired:

      • US$3.98 million in total progeny earnings
      • 134 starters
      • 67 performers in 2:00
      • 51 performers in 1:55
      • At least nine six-figure earners
      • Three performers in 1:48.4 or faster
      • Ten performers with records of 1:50.4 or faster

These are not simply fast horses. They are stakes performers capable of delivering when the pressure and prize money are at their greatest.

      A Remarkable Stakes Sweep

Perfect Sting’s growing influence was on full display at The Meadowlands on 23 May 2026 when his progeny won all four New Jersey Sire Stakes Finals for 3YO pacers.

Bookie J captured the US$225,000 Platinum Final for colts and geldings in 1:50.2.

Be Perfect BG won the US$180,000 Platinum Final for fillies in 1:52.1 over a sloppy track.

Obliterate and Sting Girl completed the clean sweep by taking out the corresponding Silver Finals.

For one young sire to produce the winners of both Platinum Finals and both Silver Finals on the same program was a remarkable demonstration of depth, versatility and consistency.

      Speed Is Becoming His Trademark

Perfect Sting’s progeny are not only accumulating earnings and stakes victories. They are consistently recording elite times.

      His fastest performers include:

      • Obliterate – p,3,1:48.3
      • Be Perfect BG – p,3,1:48.4
      • Bookie J – p,3,1:48.4

      • Be Sting – p,2,1:50.0
      • Everlast Sting Deo – p,3,1:50.1
      • Interstellar – p,3,1:50.4

With three performers already recording 1:48.4 or faster and ten at 1:50.4 or faster, Perfect Sting is stamping his progeny with the same natural speed that defined his own racing career.

His Second Crop Is Already Making Its Mark

Perfect Sting’s first crop are not the only ones creating excitement.

His second North American crop began racing as 2YOs in 2026 and had already produced several promising performers by early August.

Perfect Body led the crop for speed with a record of 1:51.4, while Aintmyfirstro Deo, Crazygirlsburnsage and Watermelon Sizzle had all paced in 1:52.

With his first crop continuing to improve at three and his second crop beginning their racing careers with genuine speed, Perfect Sting is demonstrating that his early success was no one-crop performance.

      Proven Across Elite Maternal Lines

Perfect Sting’s leading performers are emerging from a broad cross-section of accomplished pacing families.

Somebeachsomewhere is the broodmare sire of leading earners Be Perfect BG, Bookie J, Azrael Blue Chip and Napalm.

Captaintreacherous features as the broodmare sire of Rocknacious, Beautiful Memory and PA Perfect.

Other successful broodmare sires represented among his leading performers include Sweet Lou, Yankee Cruiser, Artsplace and American Ideal.

This early diversity is an encouraging sign for breeders, showing that Perfect Sting is capable of working across a wide range of high-quality pacing bloodlines.

      Yearling Sale Results

Perfect Sting’s growing reputation on the racetrack is also generating interest in the sales ring.

At the 2025 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, the Perfect Sting filly Power Sting, from Paula’s Power, sold for US$127,000 to leading owner Kenneth Jacobs.

Another Perfect Sting yearling, Bluebirds Fly, sold for US$65,000.

His 2025 Lexington yearlings averaged approximately US$68,674, demonstrating strong commercial demand as buyers responded to the early success of his first racing crop.

Earlier Harrisburg results included the Perfect Sting colt Th Suntansipping, who sold for US$70,000.

These results show that Perfect Sting is not only producing on the racetrack. His progeny are also developing genuine commercial appeal with North American buyers.

      Perfect Sting in New Zealand

Perfect Sting also has New Zealand-bred progeny coming through.

With his first New Zealand-bred racing crop expected to reach the track in 2027.

The arrival of his New Zealand progeny adds another exciting dimension to Perfect Sting’s young stud career, with breeders throughout Australasia now able to follow the development of his stock much closer to home.

      From North America to Australasia

Perfect Sting first stood in Australia in 2025, with his first Australian-bred foals due during the 2026 foaling season.

Australian and New Zealand breeders therefore have the benefit of breeding to a young stallion whose North American progeny are already proving themselves at two and continuing to develop at three.

      He is siring:

      • Early juvenile speed
      • Elite 3YO performers
      • Major stakes winners
      • Colts and fillies of equal quality
      • Commercially appealing sale horses
      • Performers from a broad range of maternal lines

Perfect Sting was an undefeated champion at two and a dual Breeders Crown winner.

Now, he is passing that speed, class and winning ability on to the next generation.

The First Crops Have Made Their Statement

From New Jersey Sire Stakes champions and sub-1:49 performers to rising stars from his second crop, Perfect Sting is delivering exactly what breeders hoped he would.

      His progeny are fast.

      They are tough.

They continue to improve with age.

Most importantly, they are winning when it matters.

Perfect Sting is no longer simply a promising young sire. He is becoming a proven sire of stakes winners, elite speed and genuine racing talent.

      Pedigree

Champion Bloodlines. Proven Performance. Elite Genetics.

Perfect Sting is the rarest kind of stallion, by a World Champion and out of a World Champion. With blistering speed, iron-tough consistency and a pedigree packed with performance, he represents a perfect blend of brilliance on both sides of the page.

Sired by the Fastest Pacer of All Time – Always B Miki

Always B Miki (p,1:46, $2.7M) set a world record that still stands today – a jaw-dropping 1:46 – and earned the title U.S. Horse of the Year in 2016. A dual Breeders Crown champion and winner of the Ben Franklin, Haughton Memorial and more, he was known for four sub-1:47 miles, a feat unmatched in harness racing history.

At stud, Always B Miki has made an immediate impact, siring top-tier performers like:

      • Grace Hill p,1:47.4 ($1.9M)
      • Sylvia Hanover p,4,1:47.3 ($1.7M)
      • Niki Hill p,3,1:48.4 ($1.3M)
      • Southwind Gendry p,1:47.2f ($1.27M)

And of course – Perfect Sting, one of his very best sons to date.

      Out of the Record-Setting Shebestingin

Perfect Sting’s dam, Shebestingin (p,3,1:47, $759,522), was a world champion herself – the fastest 3YO pacing filly of all time at retirement. Her wins include the Glen Garnsey Memorial, Empire Breeders Classic, Matron Stakes and Nadia Lobell.

Her 1:47 mile still stands as one of the fastest ever paced by a female of any age. Now proving her worth as a broodmare, she’s produced:

      • Perfect Sting (p,2,1:49.2; 1:48.1, $1.86M)
      • Voyager (p,1:50f, $200K+)

Her pedigree combines the strength of Bettor’s Delight and Abercrombie, delivering both class and stamina.

Stacked with Influence from Top to Bottom

Perfect Sting’s pedigree unites the best of both worlds:

      • Always A Virgin–Western Ideal speed and power
      • Bettor’s Delight–Cam Fella–Abercrombie depth and toughness

He’s linebred 3×2 to Abercrombie, reinforcing elite pacing genetics through one of the breed’s greatest sires.

His maternal family includes Hop Sing (p,1:48.3, $972,801) and multiple 1:50 performers – making this one of the most productive pacing families in modern Standardbred history.

A Pedigree You Can Breed On

From top to bottom, Perfect Sting’s bloodlines speak to one thing: racehorse quality. He’s the result of pairing the fastest Standardbred ever with one of the fastest pacing mares of all time, and he’s passing it on.

Breeders are already taking notice. With full books in his first seasons and progeny pacing in 1:50.0 or faster in their 2YO debut year, the pedigree is proving itself where it matters most – on the track.

      Ultimate Crosses

Perfect Sting is one of the most exciting young stallions available to breeders today. A world champion and two-time Breeders Crown winner, he represents the very best of modern Standardbred bloodlines. As a son of Always B Miki and out of the champion mare Shebestingin (by Bettor’s Delight), Perfect Sting combines speed, toughness, and a pedigree that allows for a wide range of successful mating options.

Being by Always B Miki and from a Bettor’s Delight mare, Perfect Sting offers breeders the proven strength of the Western Ideal/No Nukes sire line combined with the maternal power of Bettor’s Delight. There enormous flexibility to match him with a wide variety of mares.

      Abercrombie-line Mares

Perfect Sting’s pedigree matches up especially well with mares from the Abercrombie sire line, just as Always B Miki does.

      • Ideal crosses include mares by Art Major, Sportswriter, Grinfromeartoear, Artiscape, Astreos, Modern Art, Albert Albert, Life Sign, Dream Away, Pacific Rocket, Panorama.
      • Art Major and Sportswriter mares look particularly appealing given the presence of Big Towner in their pedigrees.

      Cam Fella-line Mares

Because Perfect Sting carries no Cam Fella blood, mares from this powerful sire line are excellent outcrosses. This is the very same cross that produced Perfect Sting himself – an unbeaten champion 2YO out of a Bettor’s Delight mare.

      • Likely matches include daughters of Fake Left, Armbro Operative, Presidential Ball, Washington VC, Precious Bunny, Four Starzzz Shark, Blissfull Hall, Pacific Fella and others.

      Direct Scooter-line Mares

Mares from the Direct Scooter line have proven to work extremely well with Western Ideal-line stallions. Perfect Sting, like his sire, should nick beautifully with them. This cross injects brilliance and early speed, complementing Perfect Sting’s own athleticism.

      • Examples include mares by Christian Cullen, Mach Three, Somebeachsomewhere, Courage Under Fire, In The Pocket, Stoneridge Scooter, OK Bye, Deal Direct, Direct Flight.

      No Nukes-line Mares

Doubling up on No Nukes has become increasingly successful in recent breeding. Perfect Sting already carries No Nukes through Western Ideal, and reinforcing this line through the dam can be very effective. These mares add stamina and toughness while enhancing proven line-breeding patterns.

      • Broodmare sires to target include Live Or Die, Badlands Hanover, Safely Kept, Village Jasper, Jereme’s Jet, and Caprock.

      Big Towner Influence

Perfect Sting traces strongly to Big Towner, and further reinforcing this line can add to his potency.

      • Mares with Big Towner in their pedigree – particularly through Art Major and Sportswriter – are expected to be especially strong matches.

      Summary

Perfect Sting offers breeders a modern, versatile outcross option with a pedigree proven at the highest levels. He should cross best with:

      • Abercrombie-line mares (Art Major, Sportswriter, Life Sign, etc.)
      • Cam Fella-line mares (Bettor’s Delight, Armbro Operative, Four Starzzz Shark, etc.)
      • Direct Scooter-line mares (Christian Cullen, Somebeachsomewhere, Mach Three, etc.)
      • No Nukes-line mares (Live Or Die, Safely Kept, Badlands Hanover, etc.)
      • Mares carrying Big Towner

This broad compatibility means breeders have an array of options to produce foals with the speed, toughness and class that defined Perfect Sting’s own career.
