Bling It On raced and in the top echelon of Australian harness racing throughout his illustrious career.
Bling It On is the Richest Australian bred son of American Ideal and out of the triple Australian Broodmare of the Year Alldatglittersisgold. The outstanding broodmare is a producer dam of eight winners and three Group race winners, who have won 129 races between them to date and together a massive $3.4 million in prizemoney. Her progeny includes Miracle Mile champion and half-sister Baby Bling, who was retired with 21 wins and 10 placings from 55 starts and career earnings of $854,490. And a full brother Bletchley Park, the fastest ever 2YO colt or gelding in Australia over a distance greater than a mile with career earnings of $403,528.
Bling It On raced the top echelon of Australian Harness Racing throughout his illustrious career. His racing record was world class, he was an elite horse from the age of two. He was able to capture 18 Group race victories from his 100 race starts, of which he won an amazing 49 races. His six Group One wins included the Seymour Nursery Stakes and the Breeders Crown as a two-year-old, the Queensland Derby at three years, the Gold Coast Cup at five, the AG Hunter Cup at six and finally, the Victoria Cup at nine, an outstanding longevity throughout a seven-year period.
To highlight the class of this top racehorse and now sire, Bling It On was crowned New South Wales and Australian two-year-old and three-year-old pacer of his year as well as New South Wales Horse of the Year in 2017.
He won Group 1’s at the ages of 2, 3, 5, 6 and 9.
As a 7yo he bounced back off the canvas after suffering a near career ending injury as the result of a race fall. He returned to the track with three consecutive victories, including two wins in what was his equal best race time.
While injured in the 2017/18 breeding season the son of American Ideal stood at stud for an introductory year and served 92 mares. His fertility stood the test with 63 live foals (68%).
After being cantankerous in his paddock and after a thorough assessment of his leg injury a decision was made to put him back into work for the 2019/20 racing season. He would only race if he was able to compete in the top echelon.
At his first start back in 15 months he scorched around Menangle in a new personal best of 1:50.2.
After that career-best performance and only second up fresh from “retirement” he showed he had lost none of his brilliance in rounding up the Group 1 field and taking the opening Grand Circuit event of the season where he was triumphant in the Victoria Cup, smashing the track record and running a world record 1:51.5 mile rate over the distance of 2000m-2999m, it was the perfect comeback story!
Added to that list of impressive victories is that he set world records over 2128 metres (1.52.4) and 2240 metres (1.51.5) and is the current record holder for the 2138 distance at Albion Park and Goulburn’s 2240 metre trip.
Bling It On was also noted for his incredible point to point speed and on ten occasions at Menangle and twice at Melton he has won under 1:52.0.

He was a champion on the racetrack and now Bling It On looks set to prove that he will carry his class into the breeding barn. It has been said that Bling It On’s traits have been forwarded onto his progeny and an analysis of his performance on the racetrack proves that what Bling It On’s progeny are showing on the track should be of no real surprise.
To date Bling It On has sired 142 individual starters, resulting in 102 individual winners, boasting an impressive 71% winners-to-starters ratio. His offspring have collectively earned over $3.6 million.
The star daughter, Madrid has been a standout since bursting onto the scene as a two-year-old. Now racing in the Northern Hemisphere, this exceptional mare has achieved 23 career victories, including two Group Ones and two Group Threes, along with a close second in the Group One NSW Oaks. Madrid has earned over $408,000 for her connections and boasts an impressive mile rate of 1:50.1MS, making her the fastest and richest offspring of Bling It On.
