THREE-time Miracle Mile winner King Of Swing has received New South Wales’ highest accolade and crowned 2022 Horse of the Year.
The Horse of the Year Awards was determined by 11 members of the media that voted in King Of Swing with the honour for the third year in a row.
King Of Swing won his last four starts before being retired to stud that included success in the Miracle Mile and the AG Hunter Cup.
Pocketing $900,300 in stakes in 2022, King Of Swing retired from racing with earnings of $3,390,546 making him the fifth-richest standardbred in Australasia.
The 2022 Horse of the Year Awards were announced at the Gallagher NSW Harness Racing Industry Awards at Menangle Country Club today, and the winners are:
Two-Year-Old Trotter of the Year:
Dreambigaimhigh – 45.45 per cent of votes
Watts Up Partytime – 45.45 per cent of votes
Two-Year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year:
Jewel Melody – 90.91 per cent of votes
Two-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Pacer of the Year:
Better Be The Best – 54.55 per cent of votes
NSW Two-Year-Old of the Year:
Jewel Melody – seven votes
Three-Year-Old Trotter of the Year:
Tough Love – 100 per cent of the votes
Three-Year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year:
Madrid – 72.73 per cent of the votes
Three-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Pacer of the Year:
Ripp – 72.73 per cent of the votes
NSW Three-Year-Old of the Year:
Ripp – seven votes
Aged Trotter of the Year:
Watts Up Majestic – 63.64 per cent of the votes
Aged Mare Pacer of the Year:
Fairy Tinkabell – 63.64 per cent of the votes
Aged Entire or Gelding Pacer of the Year:
King Of Swing – 81.82 per cent of the votes
