Legendary Hanover (Huntsville) added an emphatic stakes final harness racing victory to his perfect career record as he crushed his two-year-old pacing colt opponents in the $84,500 Dream Maker on Saturday (Aug. 12) at Woobdine Mohawk Park.
Bob McClure sat the colt third for the opening quarter of :27 and ordered him to the front in the second panel. Legendary Hanover pushed out to a two-and-a-half-length lead at the half in :56 and hit high gear to move six-and-a-half-lengths clear at three-quarters in 1:23.1. He straightened for home on top, and no rival had an answer as he soared to a nine-and-a-quarter-length triumph in 1:50. At Ease Hanover (Sylvain Filion) was best of the rest over Cupid Shuffle (Louis-Philippe Roy).
Legendary Hanover, a $260,000 Lexington Select sale purchase, is unbeaten in three starts for trainer Tony Beaton and has collected $60,250 in the process. West Wins Stable of Wellington, Eric Good of Davidsonville, and Mark Duman of Pine Bush own the freshman colt.
