March we watched history be re-written!
King Of Swing won his third consecutive Miracle Mile, becoming the first horse in history to do so. And to quinella the last two editions of the Miracle Mile is even more special, last year with Expensive Ego runng second and this year we saw Spirit Of St Louis taking second place.
We are also super proud of Expensive Ego who is heading to the paddock for a well deserved spell. These three boys have sure taken us on an amazing ride these last few seasons and we look forward to what is ahead.
We now hang up King Of Swing’s bridle as he has ran his last race and heads to the breeding barn. We are pleased to confirm that King Of Swing will be joining us at Cobbitty Equine Farm this upcoming breeding season. At this stage we are asking for expressions of interest only. Please email belinda@cobbittyequine.com.au to register your interest. Once details are finalised these people will be contacted and given the first opportunity to complete the booking process.
In other exciting news, ALTA ORLANDO secured a slot in the $900,000 The Race in New Zealand on April 14. A big thank you to Summitt Bloodstock for giving Alta Orlando the opportunity.
Bling It On and For A Reasons progeny continue to shine all across the country. Bling It On sired two winners on Monday the 21st, across each side of the country! Bling It On’s first 2YO winner for the season, Lethal Edition, won on debut at Pinjarra. Whilst Madrid continued her brilliant start to her 3YO season taking out a heat for the Bathurst Gold Bracelet.
It was the month of the Bathurst Gold Crown and both our resident stallions sired 2YO Colts & Geldings Consolation winners. It was the first win for the Bling It On gelding, Cash And Bling who is trained by Bernie Hewitt and was driven by Dougie Hewitt. Our second winner was Satellite Simba, sired by For A Reason, it was the geldings second win trained by David Reynolds and driven by Justin Reynolds.
For A Reason ended the month on a Group One winning high with his son, Gotta Good Reason taking out the $100,000 Group One Ladbrokes Tasmania Cup in Hobart for trainer/driver Mark Yole and owner Danica Yole. A big congratulations!
