November!! Where did you go!?
With the 2021 Inter Dominion ramping up, it’s a big thrill to have five superstar runners apart of the series. The first heats took place at Tabcorp Park Menangle, with our team off on a flying start, King Of Swing and Expensive Ego both had impressive victories in their heats. Alta Orlando and Spirit Of St Louis both running second in theirs. All four star pacers are well on track for the final after scoring maximum points on the first night. we look forward to what is to come in the remainder of the series.

The Stallions have been receiving tremendous support in the breeding barn this year. Capt Midnight has continued in his fathers footsteps and is proving a highly sought-after Stallion. In his first year downunder he has already received a strong book of mares, which include the brilliant Group 1 millionaire mare Fleur De Lil 1:51.4 ($1,041,636) Forever Gold 1:51.7 ($700,593), Bettor Enforce 1:48.9 ($394,299), Tact Hayleys Delight 1:52.2 ($300,736), Bridget Bluechip 1:51.4 ($177,946), Tralee Bromac 1:50.9 ($230,250), Blackberry Lane 1:53 ($119,827), Dymondee ($110,294), Delightful Tara 1:51.9 ($109,972), She Aint Fakin a full sister to Blacks A Fake ($4,575,438) and Smart As Camm Be ($201,444) just to name a few. We are excited to see his first foals hit the ground next year!

McWicked graced the Kelly Family with two beautiful fillies out of the Million Dollar mare Frith and super mare Molly Kelly. These two fillies have some serious potential to live up to with parents like that.

What makes For A Reason special to you?

Frank has been a very special horse to us for
many years. His will to win, great attitude, perfect
to drive , so strong and very versatile – you could
drive him with so much confidence however the
race presented itself.

Can you explain the particular moment you come to the realisation For A Reason was something special?

When I broke him in the first day in the cart he just felt like a machine. Peter Rixon and dad
both watched on and thought he had a lot of action.. I remember saying to them watch
when he quickens – he’s perfect and won’t wear a boot.. and he was.

Of all the wins you have had on For A Reason what would you say is the one win that would be most memorable?

Frank had a lot of memorable wins over his career … the most special and memorable was by far his comeback win when he returned from injury and standing at Stud and won the Victoria Cup in 2013. That win was amazing, beating horses like Beautide, Christen Me and Smoken Up . . . it was one of the highlights of my career.

What was his best win?

He had so many great wins, its hard to pick. His four Derby wins were very special especially the New South
Wales Derby when he sat three wide without cover from the 1000 metre mark and outstayed them and definitely
The Victoria Cup.

How would you describe For A Reason racing style?

He was strong, fast, versatile, so fast off cover but didn’t need cover to sprint quick – as seen in his NSW Derby victory.

What main attributes would you like to see For A Reason progeny carry on from him?

His great gait – never wore a knee boot.
His will to win and great attitude.
Frank was an absolute pleasure to drive and never let you down.

At the start November, the NSW Breeders Challenge True Blue Series was held. With our Cobbitty Equine Stallions
siring over half of the fields, which was very nice to see. It was a huge thrill when the 3YO son of For A Reason, Kashed
Up took victory in the Group Two Breeders Challenge True Blue 3YO C&G divison. Kashed Up’s results this season have
seen him pocket $122,489 in stakes, taking his earnings over $173,954 from just 9 lifetime wins, a huge congratulations
to the Hewitt Family.

He was a champion on the racetrack and now Bling It On looks set to prove that he will carry his class into the breeding barn, With only a month left of the season, Bling It On is currently sitting 3rd on the National Premiership of First Crop Sires. ‘Yank’ has had 21 starters from his debut crop for 10 individual winners, all from 10 individual
broodmare sires. Bling It On just keeps ticking all the boxes this season, as 6 of those individuals winners all won of the their first debut race start, he provided a Group 1 winner and also is the sire of HNSW’s top 2YO filly this season, Madrid. We could not be any prouder of his progeny’s efforts and we look forward to the years ahead watching his progeny grace the racetrack.
