Another month completed and it’s been a busy one at that!

With the breeding season in full swing, our seven stallions have been receiving amazing support in the breeding barn. Our foals have hit the ground running, all receiving rave reviews and great reports. It has also been a successful month on the racetrack as well.

With the running of the NSW Breeder Challenge heats and finals taking place this month, there was a number of Bling It On and For A Reason progeny taking victory in the heats. It was Group One success for Bling It On progeny. From his first crop, ‘Yank’ sired his first Group One winner, that been the 2YO filly Madrid clocking a personal best 1:51.9 at Menangle in the $150,000 NSW Breeders Challenge Final. Madrid is now rated NSW’s top 2YO filly so far this season. She has won five of her six starts.

Making their return to the winners circle at Menangle, King Of Swing and Expensive Ego are on target as they prepare for their ID21 Campaign. Expensive Ego brought home the trophy for the Kevin Robinson Memorial (G3) with stable mate Alta Orlando, running second.

Proving her worth, the sensational 4YO trotting mare Aldebaran Revani (USA) recorded her sixth consecutive win and also a new personal best of 1:52.7.

Q&A With David Moran

What makes Lochinvar Art special to you as a Race Horse?

I have been very privileged to be in a position to have an exceptional horse like Arty. It is something that dreams are only made of and to become a reality for me is something unique to which words cannot describe.

Arty has a lovely temperament, he loves the human contact (which sometimes is rare in colts). He has a nonchalant personality and is a very kind, smart horse. He possesses a bit of spunk at times, but majority of the time at home he is relaxed with life and enjoys it thoroughly.

Arty has impressed me not only as a horse off the track, but when it’s time to race he is a high class professional race horse. When Arty is out on the track, he gets into the mindset of ‘never die/give up attitude’. He is such a competitive natured horse to which is demonstrated in his Group wins. Arty has amazing speed, coupled with eagerness and ability to win like no other horse I have driven or trained. Arty will never disappoint, ever

Can you explain the particular moment you come to the realisation Lochinvar Art was something special?

Of all the wins you have had on Lochinvar Art, what would you say so far is the one win that would be most memorable?

I would personally say his 4YO Bonanza win was the most memorable for a lot of reasons. My favourite wins on Arty would be the Chariots, Victorian Cup and Hunter Cup, as those races that don’t come by easy these days in the least.

How would you describe Lochinvar Arts racing style?

Arty is an extremely versatile, tough, fast horse. He is very adaptable to different racing styles, patterns and distances.

What main attributes would you like to see Lochinvar Art progeny carry on from him?

His competitive nature, high class speed, strong and robust stamina, kind and caring nature and his versatility.

Sitting amongst the Top Ten 2YO sires in NSW, Bling It On is currently sitting 5th. ‘ Yank’ has now sired 15 individual starters for 9 individual winners – 6 of those have all won on debut. Secret Bling & Im Vexatious both record their first win in their first race debut this month.

For A Reason continues to climb the siring ranks, currently the second top 3YO sire in NSW.

The month of October has seen “Frank” and “Yank” sire 14 individual winners from 36 individual starters and 14 placings.
